“Can We Talk?” A film from the Boston Busing/Desegregation Project

The Boston Busing/Desegregation Project, a Union of Minority Neighborhoods project, shared their film in 2011, Can We Talk? — Learning from Boston’s Busing/Desegregation Crisis. Can We Talk? is a film that shares the stories of people the Union of Minority Neighborhoods met while working on CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) reform and organizing around public education.

The film was produced, written, and directed by Scott Mercer and filmed by Justin Shannahan. Many important stories and truths are shared in this film. Bus drivers, residents of the projects, parents, and children talk about the impact and experience of “busing” and desegregation in Boston.
